The product
Glyphly is a desktop app for CJK language learning (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). It helps you capture text from your screen, run on-device OCR, look up words, save vocabulary, and review what you learn.
Supported platforms and languages change between versions. Whatever is listed as available on the product page at the time of your purchase is what you are buying; anything described as planned or in development is not guaranteed.
Personal study use
Glyphly is a study tool, intended for personal language learning.
You are responsible for using Glyphly only with content you have the right to access and read. Glyphly is not designed for, and must not be used for, circumventing copyright protection, DRM, access controls, paywalls, or any other technical restriction. It reads what is already displayed on your own screen; it does not unlock, download, or redistribute anything.
You are also responsible for complying with the terms of any service or application whose content you study alongside Glyphly.
Free and Pro
Glyphly can be used free of charge, with a limit on the number of words you can save.
Glyphly Pro removes that limit and enables additional study features. Pro requires a valid license key, obtained either as a one-time Founder Lifetime purchase or as an active monthly or yearly subscription.
A license key is for your own use on a limited number of devices, stated at purchase. Keys may not be shared, resold, or published. Sharing or publishing a key may result in it being disabled.
Pro access
Pro features are available while your license is valid and, for subscriptions, while the subscription is active. If a subscription lapses or is cancelled, Glyphly returns to the free tier — your saved words, sentences, and review history remain on your device and are not deleted.
Founder Lifetime provides ongoing access to Glyphly Pro's core features for the supported lifetime of the product, subject to fair-use limits on any features that depend on third-party cloud services.
Third-party and cloud-dependent features
Some optional features rely on third-party services — for example, sentence translation via DeepL, which requires your own API key and is governed by DeepL's terms.
Features that depend on external services may be changed, limited, or withdrawn if the underlying service changes its terms, pricing, or availability. Fair-use limits may be applied to prevent abuse and keep costs sustainable.

No warranty
Glyphly is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
OCR, word segmentation, definitions, and translations can be wrong. Glyphly is a learning aid, not an authoritative reference and not a substitute for a teacher or a professional translator. Do not rely on it where accuracy matters — medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical contexts included.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Glyphly. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing here affects statutory consumer rights you may have in your country.
Changes to Glyphly
Glyphly is under active development. Features may be added, changed, or removed between versions. Planned features described as planned are not guaranteed, and should not be the basis of a purchase.
